Beds were super comfortable and the hotel was overall very clean. The ambience is nice with a decoration referring to old movies (photographs and objects in the lobby, hallways, rooms.)

Facilities are quite old: Bathtub had curtains; air condition had an on/off switch.The parking area in front of the hotel entrance was very narrow and it was never easy to stop your car to get off.Check-in took so long. It's much quicker in other hotels.

Well situated, great amenities, friendly and helpful staff

Close to convenience stores and restaurants. The roadway in and out of the property was wide enough for two vehicles. The staff made sure the path was always clear. Breakfast was good, but expensive.

The cost of drinks in the bar was outrageously high. Could have bought an entire bottle at the store for what 2 drinks cost. Breakfast was overpriced as well.

Old-school style and vibes in a GREAT location. Many excellent restaurants right across the street. Having said that, the hotel's own all-day dining restaurant is excellent. Located in a very walkable part of Shanghai with relatively light traffic and good supply of taxis.

The tub-shower is the weakest part of the room.

The room was spacious and clean

Breakfast was served in a canteen. Tables were set up for seating 4 or 6 people, in a small overcrowded room. I found myself having breakfast with 5 strangers

Location is excellent. Easy access to train station (about 200m).Staffs are friendly. Rooms are big enough for 3 pax. Added 1 folded bed for my stay of 3.

A bit run down but can see the effort of the maintenance done.

The stuff is very helpful and the place of the hotel is perfect. I can able to reach everywhere easily. The breaksfast is also good.The cleanliness of the room is well done.

Fantastic location, close to metro station, lots of good food around including macccas across the road which was good for breakfast. Big spacious room.

Stayed twice and first time no deposit required second time there was a 2500 RMB deposit required. No big deal but just a bit confusing.

We could have had a little more help with the menu in the restaurant unfortunately our waitress didn't speak much English.

Well located, easy access to various food choices, in between high-tech park and city central, within walking distance to Shanghai Joao Tong University subway station (about max 10 mins walk).

The location is excellent ! I can get anything which I like from a very short walking distance. We especially like to have a evening walk around French Concession. We are looking forward to our next visit to stay at the same hotel in very near future!

It would be even better if the cleanliness of the bathroom can be improved.

I enjoyed the noodle station. I had a bowl everyday and never tired of it since they offered three types of noodles and the toppings were good choices. The other foods were fair. Everything needed flavor. The location was ideal and close to many shops and restaurants. Getting a taxi or walking was easy.

I was disappointed in the Congee. It was mostly water and some rice on the bottom of the pot, no flavor. My last time in Shanghai was at another hotel and they had three kinds of congee; all 3 were fabulous. The Dim sum offerings were disappointing, I did not try any. The staff could be friendlier. Maybe smile sometimes.

The concierge and reception were helpful with their guidance and managing our requests. Room was clean and air-conditioning was working. Housekeeping was considerate in addressing our requests and always smiling and courteous (lovely lady).

There were 3 of us (clearly communicated in the booking). When we arrived we were given only 2 bottles of water as 'welcome drink'. Which was a surprise given the '5-star' status of the hotel. Also only 2 hand towels left in the bathroom.

Breakfast has good choices and staff was very attentive and friendly. the location is close to my workplace, and the neighborhood is convenient, local shops and also western options readily available.

Absolutely amazing service by all the staff we came across. Breakfast was good and room was large and clean.

A small and trivial thing, but I am not a fan on a shower in the bathtub.

Japanese staff at hotel was excellent!

Good supports for troubles, Though I selected miss location and canceled 3 stays, they responded quickly and politely.It is not just a good looking hotel.
